Henley Grove Fort

The fort at Henley Grove was part of a line of defences planned across the South East of England in case of a 'Bolt from the Blue'; an invasion from France. Intended as a mustering station for troops, it held weapons and amunition as well as trenching tools and barbed wire so that defences could be built along the downs. The fort was never in fact used and now houses facilities for local youth activities.
