Greyfriars Vineyard

Greyfriars Vineyard is a small yard growing Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes on a south facing slope of the Hogs Back near Puttenham. The yard produces a selection of white wines and an 'English Fizz', made using the methode champenoise.

Vats

Three 1,000 litre vats. This volume will make 4,000 bottles. The one to the right is for racking.

Riddling Racks

The riddling racks for making the champagne. The wine is put in bottles for second fermentation. The bottles are turned daily so that the yeast sediment sinks to the neck. It is later removed.
